Description:
“Darwin’s Prodigious Barnacle” represents “Darwin’s Theory of Evolution” versus “God’s Creation”.  Darwin studied the diversity and natural history of barnacles for countless hours to find support for Evolution causing him to state “Few men could hate a barnacle as much as I”.  This sculpture is many times life size because the lowly barnacle has contributed prodigiously to the great divide between Science and Religion.

What the artist is saying:
The lowly barnacle is an icon of the secular that verses mankind's invented religion.
